With the first week of HIIT coming to a close, this experience has been a lesson in accountability and trying novel approach to my exercise regime.
Variety is the spice of life in my books, so with that principal in mind, I decided to embark on a new journey.
Several years ago, I was an avid CrossFitter. I became entrenched in the culture and thrived off the high intensity workouts when I lived in Petawawa, Ontario and found it to not only be challenging but a great group dynamic.
Fast forward years later, and while I still enjoy powerlifting and the occasional CrossFit type workout, this is the first time I would step foot in a "box" in years. My friend, Pete, became a partner at CrossFit O-Town/Dynamo Academy and encouraged me to give it a shot to revisit my roots.
I'll let the blog post below speak for itself about the overall experience, but let's just say that my endurance need some work! What a fun and exhilarating challenge, especially that I had the chance to do it in tandem with my boyfriend to encourage one another.
I'm continuing with my egg fast on a four on, three day off format. I have a photo shoot at the end of the month, thus this experiment has extended for the entire duration of August. If you want to learn more about the egg fast, check out my two blogs so far.
