Regardless of circumstance, situation or outcome, you have the ability to overcome through reframing your mindset, developing healthy and productive self-care practices and de-stressing.
Being that it’s a Sunday – the universal day of rest and relaxation – it’s fitting that we take a moment to focus from within to be prepared for the week ahead and beyond by balancing one aspect from trifecta of wellness – your mind.
Review a handful of the ideas below and schedule yourself to complete at least one from each section per week. Watch how in a short amount of time, your mindset will respond!
Let’s get started with…THE MIND
Track your compliments! We are often our worst critic, but do we take the time to document and actually listen to the compliments that we receive daily? Take note.
Get er’ done – find that ONE thing on your to-do list that you’ve been putting off and accomplish it. It will feel rewarding and liberating.
Reframe the situation by changing how you make decisions. If you are used to making decisions from your heart, stop, reframe and choose from your head. Or vice versa.
Turn off the autopilot – bring awareness to everyday tasks by paying attention and being mindful during your mundane routine like driving, eating, or doing makeup
Form a NEW habit through repetition – it takes time to develop a habit, but start small by doing the same thing daily and not allowing yourself to deviate from that schedule – perhaps its eating the same thing every Tuesday or flossing before you brush every morning
Be selfish. Selfish means “for self” – so choose something that makes you happy today and do it, you deserve it!
Toss It! Do a mini-declutter of items around your home from unused clothing to condiments in the fridge. Decluttering of the baggage and excess is also decluttering of the mind.
Disconnect. Yes – turn your phone on airplane mode, shut down all the electronics, set your email on away and focus on being present if even for an hour or two per day!
Step outside your comfort zone – it’s the only way to expand it! Help someone with groceries, do a Facebook live, go out without doing your hair or makeup and not worrying about what people think, sign up for an activity you’ve been afraid to do!
Bye Felicia to social media negativity. Delete, mute, or even block negativity or negative people from your social media streams to refocus on not needed validation but instead seeking genuine connection with like-minded people.
Imagine if by simply taking the time to check off one of these items weekly, how that can shift your mindset to be positive, healthy and happy?
What self-care practices are a part of your daily or weekly regime and how often do you review them?
